Are yall twins or what?
This week was probably the hottest week of my life. Haha. Ive never sweat so much for so long. Its awesome! Haha. But its pretty funny because everyone always asks Sister Hancock and I, if we are either 1, related or 2, twins. Its so funny! We love it though.
This week we got to spend some time up in Lawton OK. We had Stake conference and Elder Pearson from the 70 came. He is an amazing speaker. The spirit was so strong there and I learned so much. It was also fun to be with President and sister Mansell! We had interviews with them while we were there and its just the best! I fell so blessed to have them as our mission president and wife. I love them so much!
Anyways, now for a few miracles.
We had our weekly lesson with Linda and Garrick. This time when we went, Linda's older daughter Paige was there along with Garrick's friend Miguel. Long story short, Paige has been going through some hard things and really opened up to us. She hasn't been religious or even been to church since she was 10. well both of them sat in our lesson that night, it went amazing. We taught about the basic prinicples of the gospel using Alma 22, the story of Aaron teaching king Lamoni's father. And we gave Miguel a book of Mormon. then when Linda was driving us home from the lesson, she asked us if she could have a book of Mormon to give to Paige!!!!!!! We were trying so hard to not scream and jump out of our seats! It was just the best!
On Friday we went to Seymour to visit our investigators there...So we have a newer investigator named Cagney. She is not very religious and LOVES to talk. We had an amazing lesson with her and the spirit was so strong as we testified of the atonement and how we are saved from both spiritual and physical death through Jesus Christ. At the end she was like, you know usually I dont talk to people who knock on my door, let alone invite them in and back again. But yall were different. Usually people come and its all about them, but you guys make it about me, and I like that. She told us we were genuine and sincere. And it just made us so happy. That is what we strive to do and it was such a tender mercy to hear her say that to us!
This is not a miracle but its pretty funny...we got pulled over on our bikes, by a cop, who was not very nice to us, in 106 degree weather. haha. He told us we cant bike on the road if there is a sidewalk. But we just said yes sir and kept on going. The sidewalks here suck. They just randomly end and they are bumpy and most of the time there is crap blocking them. Oh well, hopefully we dont see that cop again...
Well there is so much more, there always is, but alas, time is short! Iove yall and I love this gospel. Its the best thing ever! One of my new favorite chapters in the book of mormon is 2 Nephi 4. I love how Nephi is just so real and honest. He talks about how he has seen these amazing things, yet he still sins and has natural man tendencies. I feel the same way. I have seen God's hand in my life and felt the spirit and know its true, and yet we still mess up and arent perfect. I fell him and how he is in pain because of it, but he says he puts his trust in God and knows that it will be good in the end! HE IS SOOO COOL!
Love yall! Stay cool :)
