This one is for the dogs
We had a pretty great week! Here are some of the highlights!
We were biking around and were headed to go visit a part member family and on the way we stopped and tried some potentials and ended up getting some return appointments with them. And then we talked to this lady and her boyfriend in their yard. They were playing with some dogs. As we got talking we found out that Stephanie is from Germany and came here for school. And that they have 8 dogs!!! 3 being Rhodesian ridgebacks which are like my favorite! So they invited us inside to see their dogs, which led to a tour of their house because Thomas has done a lot to it and also loves to garden. Anyways, we got to tell them about what we do and bear testimony of the book of Mormon. Stephanie gave us some German chocolate straight from Germany and they told us we can come back. Fast forward to Sunday night; we tried to go back but they weren't home, but we met Thomas's buddy Todd who is kinda lost in life. After a long talk, a hug (oops...sometimes you can't control it) he said we could come back and teach him the plan of salvation!!! So that was pretty neat. Also that part member family we set out to see, wasn't even home. God puts us where he needs us!!
Here is something funny that I just have to share. So we were visiting our investigator Willie, who has his 10 year old grandson from Germany visiting (Why is everyone from Germany this week?) Anyways Willie, thinks I look very German. He asked his grandson if I looked like a German girl, and he said no. He then asked if I looked like a German boy, and he said yes, and that my name would be Sean....I was dying. It was pretty funny.
We had a really great lesson with Garrick this week who was also got the Aaronic preliesthood so that was exciting!!!
J'June is still doing good. Got to see him a couple times throughout the week. He said that when he prayed to know if the book of Mormon was true, he felt a lot of peace!!!
George is also doing good. He loves the book of Mormon and has been reading a lot! He loves church, especially gospel principles class! The love from the members has just really filled his heart.
There was another day we were out knocking on some doors, and we found this family (all whom love soccer, woohoo!!) And honestly it was a pretty bad door approach, but we said what we teach can help families and bless them and the mom was like sure come back Wednesday next week at 12!! So we are excited to see if that goes anywhere! It was also the last door we knocked on that day. So cool!
Apparently we knocked on a lot of doors this week...another door we knocked on, well we were looking for a inactive member, but this Spanish couple came out and said the person we were looking for wasn't there. But apparently they had met missionaries before, and in very broken English and mostly Spanish they said to bring back Espanol missionaros. We said muy bien! Haha. So we are going to bring some Spanish speaking members on Tuesday to go see them!
So those are some high lights from the week! It's been fun! We find out if either of us are transferred this weekend. I really don't know what is going to happen but I feel that there is a good chance I will stay. We will see!
Also please continue to pray for April. She wants to get baptized so bad, but she needs to stop smoking. She is down to 3 cigarettes a day and is doing so good, but please keep her in your prayers. And Jason too. He also needs to stop.
Alright, make this week a good one! And remember, "you become what you want to be, by consistently being what you want to become each day." -Richard G. Scott
