Good week in Wichita

So we officially moved in but we haven't really unpacked haha. But this week was a good one! I'm glad that we haven't unpacked (well I don't like the chaos of it) because we have been so busy we haven't had time!

Tuesday we had some conference up in Norman and it was great! It was one of the best I have been to. I learned some really important things that are not only going to change my missionary work, but my life. We talked a lot about success and grit and what success really is. And something I took from it was that I have a lot of physical grit, but when it comes to mental grit, I can definitely be better. So I made some goals and I am going change and be better! So it was really good. We also got to stay the night at OU and I was in heaven being in my old stompin ground! It was so fun to reminisce.

Anyways, Wednesday we got back to work and killed it. We had 5 members come to lessons with us and we even split up in the evening with members so that we could get more work done! And a miracle, we went to see some students we met the other day, Matt and Steven, well they invited us in. They asked a ton of questions and we ended up teaching the restoration! We have another appointment for Saturday and so we are excited!

We have really been focusing on being bold in extending commitments and promising blessings to our investigators. With April, J' June and George we told them that if they read the book of Mormon everyday then *enter specific blessing*. So we have really been hoping that they have the faith to sacrifice and read everyday.

Thursday we went on exchanges in Duncan. I got to be with sister Ford and it was awesome! We spent all day biking around finding people. We found a guy named Dan. We set a return  appointment for the next day and they went back and said it went really Well! Woohoo! I got pretty roasted in the sun though! I love a good day of hard work though. It's the best!

Friday was also really good. Highlight of Friday was we were teaching Bill and Carol and finally we got bill to sit down and talk for a while. Well we ended up teaching the plan of salvation and it was great. They just kept saying that it just made so much sense. The only thing that is holding them up is Joseph smith. But we promised that if they read the book of Mormon and prayed about it they would be able to get an answer about Joseph Smith. And for the first time, Bill has agreed to read! Woohoo!

So yeah it's been a good week!
Some other highlights include an awesome day in Seymour. Both Cagney and Jason and Casey are doing great! And Jason is still trying to quit smoking and doing well! And then yesterday we had all day p day. We got the whole zone to come up to the Wichita mountains in Lawton Oklahoma. We went up and hiked around and ate food and had a camp fire and had a great time! It was a lot of fun. I always love seeing all the missionaries! It's amazing how good of  friends you become with the people you serve around!

All I know is that I am just so grateful for the gospel and the book of Mormon. There is so much we can learn from it. This week I've been studying Ammon and how bold he was because he knew the power and authority he had as a missionary. Christ and the holy ghost are always there backing you up. It's so amazing!

Love y'all, Sister Gentry
