Sun, Sweat, Sunscreen - Repeat!
So I dont remember if I mentioned Drew last week, but we met him knocking on doors and his dog almost peed on my foot. Anyways, we met up this last week, and had a great conversation. He was very open with us and asked a lot of good questions. We gave him a book of mormon, and he is down to meet again so that is good!
Linda and Garrick are doing well. (Linda's husband Will, is a member and Garrick is her son) We had a great lesson with them this week. And we did an object lesson that was hilarious but really helped us get the principle understood. Afterwards Garrick told us that he does want to get baptized! (he is 13) We arent sure about Linda yet. Its confusing with her. She is super smart, and has grown up Catholic, and isnt very open about what she thinks about it all. We know she knows the book of mormon is true, and they come to church every week. But she is just hard to read. Please pray for her!! And another miracle, when we taught, Garrick had a friend over, Miguel who is pretty interested and they also had another family friend over named Dale who is like 95 or something crazy. He is really cool! Hopefully we can start teaching them both too!
Okay another amazing miracle. So we have an investigator named Serena. She is 17 or 18...just graduated high school. Well we had the thought to text her and see if she was free to meet up that day but we went back and forth on it because it was busy and she was graduating and everything else. Anyways, we decided to text her. We get a text back that says "I was just in a car accident and Im just leaving the hospital, but I can meet at 2." We were like OH MAN! but anyways. It was cool cause when we met with her, she said that we texted her right after the car accident happened and she literally believes it to be a sign. Anyways we had a great lesson with her on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, invited her to church and she loved it all! She says it just makes so much sense! This week she will be in Italy though so we will not be able to see her. But the best part about it, she told us that she prayed that we would not get transferred. And this a girl who has never felt like she has received an answer to her prayers! SSSOOOO COOLLL!
We had a couple other pretty good lessons too which included a really awkward lunch with a 17 year old boy at Jefe's, and a less active member wanting us to teach her 15 year old grandson who is actually pretty interested.
I love being a missionary! Its the best! I am so thankful for sister Hancock, I hope I can be like her one day! She is a great missionary. Please send prayers that we will not melt away in the heat! We have bike week this week haha.
Love yall,
Sister Gentry
