"It is funny cause a squirrel gets dead" - Doug the Dog
So yeah we saw a dead squirrel this week and took a picture with it because what else are we supposed to do on spring break. Haha. but it was a good week. We were still able to work hard and have some good door knocking experiences while we were literally the only ones on campus. I feel like I own the place! And all the plants are coming to life so that was wonderful. Nature is beautiful and I cant wait for everything to be green.
We had Greenie follow up this week and interviews so that was fun. I was able to help with a training given by the Zone leaders about real intent and becoming who we want to be. I got to share like one of my favorite quotes by Richard G scott. "We become what we want to be, by consistently being what we want to become each day." I love it! It was a lot of fun. I also just feel so good after having an interview with President Mansell. He just makes me feel like I can do it and that I am doing a good job!
So the few people we were able to talk to this week were all foreign exchange students. One is named Burak from Turkey. and Then Jack and Lee from China. We are meeting with Burak tonight so that should be cool. when we knocked on his door, he said that he was going through a hard time, and kinda feels like God has abandoned him. He is also interested in coming to church! We also met a girl in our apartment complex named Jasmyne who says she was just crying to her boyfriend the other day that she feels like her relationship with God is suffering and she wants to strengthen it again. That was so cool!
We came up with some good tactics this week. One was carry around a frisbee and ask people if they wanted to pass. Or Sister Baker (because she is an amazing artist) would ask people if she could draw them and then while she drew I would talk to them and they couldnt leave because they were being drawn! haha! so we were able to have a lot of fun in the craziness.
But now that everyone is back, we have so many people to work with and so much work to do! I am soooo excited! Also Hannah is doing great. We had a recent convert member come in and talk about her experience with telling her southern baptist family she was being baptized and how it was hard for her. I think it helped because Hannah is also really scared about that. But we are working towards it!
Also Im SOOO excited for Conference. I might have said that last week but I dont care ha! I have been studying the atonement and Resurrection to prepare for Easter and I was lead to read a couple chapters in the book Jesus the Christ. Its honestly amazing. When I read about Christ and his life in the detail its written in and really think about it, the only words to describe what I feel come from the song "I stand all amazed." I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I cant even fathom the amount of love I feel from him and the strength that he gives me every single day. I couldnt do what I do without that every day. I am so grateful and I am so happy that Easter is around the corner for us to all remember and be amazed at the most important even that ever happened. Because Christ is risen and so can we. And he gave me the opportunity to be with my family forever in pure joy. And that is why im here. Because there needs to be more eternal happiness and more eternal families. Im thankful for my eternal family because they are my best friends. The best examples and the best teachers. They have taught me what it means to work hard and have fun and love. They have shown me the closest thing to the Saviors love for me as its going to get here. I cant wait to see them again, but there is some life changing I have to do in Oklahoma I need to do first! :)
Love you all!
