Feelin Hot hot hot hot hot hot
This week has been awesome! So many miracles! Lets just say that we have been teaching like crazy and have been so busy. I love it! Sister Maloney is adjusting great. She is a wonderful teacher. I lover her enthusiasm for the work. People probably think we are crazy because we both just love it so much haha!
Here is the highlight reel for the week!
We have been teaching April (married to a recent convert of about 2 years ago) and she wants to be baptized! We have to work with her to stop smoking, but she has already cut back so much and is doing great! Looking at getting baptized mid august!!
Christina and George. Christina (13) also wants to be baptized! We brought her the Childrens book of mormon stories book with the pictures and she thought it was the coolest thing ever! She loved it. George, her uncle, loves the book of mormon. We read Alma 36 with him and he loved it. He said that he was going to read the whole book of Alma but the time we come back! haha. he also loves church. He feels very loved there. Its cool because he has a VERY rough background. He has been prepared for the gospel and needs the peace and relief that it brings! I love it!
Rosa and Henry are also doing well. We taught them more about the gospel of Jesus Christ and they both committed to try harder to read the book of mormon and pray about it. They are very open! After we visited with them, we had a media referral/bible request from a guy down the street. We knock on the door and ask for a Jake, well a lady comes out and then says she will go and get him. so a guy comes out and says he did not order a bible and is baptist. Great... welll we get talking and then got to share about the book of mormon. Turns out he is acutally pretty open and said that we could come back and that he would like to read it! SWEET! as we left I was like, Nice to meet you Jake, and he was like, "Im Greg...I dont know a Jake...." so we didnt even find the right guy, but it totally worked out! MIRACLE!
One day we had a lesson with a girl named Kimberlay, she was really nice but really not interested. Anyways we decided to go and knock some doors in her apartment complex. Well the first door we knock on this guy opens (who we very obviously just woke up from a nap). We get talking and long story short, we get on to the book of mormon. We offer him one and he says he would like to read it, but probably wont on his own. we are like, well we would love to read with you! He was light alright, and then immediately invites us in haha. We went in, taught the restoration and then read 3 nephi 11! He loved it and asked if he could come to church. We said of course. ANYWAYS, HE CAME TO CHURCH! Made friends with the members that gave him a ride, and then they invited him over for dinner after church! SO AWESOME! Also side note...his name is J'June and he is from the Caribbean!
And then we had a member call us and say "hey sisters I have a friend who is interested in the book of mormon and is coming to church on sunday!" Her name is Nicole, and we are meeting with her on Wednesday! she is awesome and so spiritually sensitive. There is no way she cant be intently seeking and not find that this is true!
And then Bill and Carol of course are doing great! We are going to do a church tour with them this week! We got to teach Carol the beginning of the Plan of Salvation and she loved it! She really wants to come to church with us!
And then Last but not least, Linda and Garrick are getting baptized this week! Woohooo! We are so excited. I literally cannot wait. Its going to be the best and Sister Hancock will be able to come!
I love the work, it is amazing. I feel so grateful that I get to serve here in Wichita Falls with so many wonderful people. there are people all around us who are ready for the gospel, look for them and reach out. You will be blessed!
Love yall,
Sister Gentry
