God's Timing is Perfect!

This week has been awesome!! Here are a few highlights!

So Monday night we had everything planned out. We had a lesson at 7 with our investigator and a member and her daughter planning to come with us. Well at 7 (as we were driving to her house) she calls us and tells us that she just threw up and that we probably didn't want to come over. That was disappointing because then we were like great, now what do we do? It's dark, freezing, and people don't want us knocking on their doors when it's late and dark. Well we came up with a few options and then prayed to seek direction from the Lord. We both felt like we needed to go drop in on our investigator Jane. So we did. Turns out Jane was really struggling and had a hard day. She told us that it was meant to be that we were there and she was so thankful that God sent us! Woohoo!!

On Tuesday we had MLC and sister Lewis came up to spend the night to prepare for the meeting the next day. We spent a lot of time talking about good ole Texas and how everyone was doing down there! It was so fun to spend time with her! And then at the meeting I got to be with sister Hancock as well and of course that made me happy!

We had a great lesson with Ira, we had a cool moment where we got it into his head that although he has been baptized it was not by the proper authority, and we did it by teaching about the gift of the holy ghost. The spirit was definitely there and at the end he was like yeah, I don't think my preacher ever gave me that. I guess its about time that I get it! It was awesome!

So Thursday we really saw God's hand in our whole day. First off, we received a referral for a guy requesting a bible and a book of Mormon on Wednesday. We called him up and he said that he would be free tomorrow at 2. Well we already had an appointment at 2 on Thursday but something in me just said yes. So we double booked and they live in the same apartment complex randomly enough so we were just gonna play it by ear. We first go to the referral and no one answers the door. So we go to our lesson and right before we go in, he calls us and said he just got home, but that we could come after our lesson. Out lesson with Lavaughn went great! (He even came to church on Sunday and loved it!) After the lesson we went over to Joseph's (the referral) and were able to have time to teach him and his cousin the restoration, which we wouldn't have had time to do if we went earlier. After that we had just the right amount of time to try another referral. This one (Neco) was from a lady in a neighboring state. She said she felt like he would be interested although she didn't want us to tell him she sent us. So we had to pretend to knock on his door randomly. We go to the address she gave us and knock on the door and no one is home. Well we have some extra minutes so we decide to knock some doors. Well across the street there is a house that the spirit was just like "you should go knock that one." Long story short, it ended up being Neco. The lady had accidentally given us the wrong address! But it went great and we set up a return appointment with him! It was just so cool to me to see that God had led us to where we needed to be in every moment and to every person!!

On Friday we went on exchanges and another lesson we had, fell through well we decided to walk to the dollar store just down the road to see if we could talk to people there because it was dark and cold. Well there we ended up talking to a lady named Angela who gladly accepted a book of Mormon and we had a great talk about Christ. She said she was feeling down that day and she knew that God had sent us to lift her up! We got her information as well and hopefully we will meet up with her later this week!

I am just amazed at how God is continuously leading us to people that are ready and prepared! I am so excited to teach all of them! It is such a blessing to be apart of this work. I am so grateful for the gospel and for the knowledge which we have. Know that I am thankful for all of you and the examples you have set for me! Thank you for all the love and support! I'm so grateful for my family, they are the best in the whole world! I love you guys! Hope yall have a very happy Thanksgiving! And I hope that we all might live in Thanksgiving daily for all of our many blessings!

Love, Sister Gentry
