No More Leftovers, PLEASE!

This week has been great! Thanksgiving was awesome and let me just say, the members really took care of us! If I were to add all the dinners, leftovers served for dinner, and leftovers given to us to take home, it would probably account to 6 or 7 Thanksgiving dinners and let's just say I never want to look at stuffing or Turkey again! Haha!

Here are a couple highlights from the week!
We were able to meet with Tom, and teach the restoration. Its funny because he believes almost everything we do, except the whole "saved" concept of confessing that Christ is Lord and baptism. He also gets really passionate about the bible and likes to preach to us haha. But anyways, he loved the book of Mormon and came to church this week and so hopefully the spirit will help us out and soften his heart!

We had  great lesson with Ira, and we told him that he knows enough to be baptized he just needs to quit smoking and drinking. He said that he would like that and also agreed to come to church. Well he actually has been trying to smoke less and he CAME TO CHURCH which is a super big think because he says he is shy and has never come before but anyways, it was just such a big miracle!

Thanksgiving we had a great day! Started off with a turkey bowl with the ward and a bunch of missionaries and then food, food, food! It was nice to have a day to relax and spend time with the members! they are so good to us!

Lavaughn is doing really well! We took a member and his wife with us to the lesson and they got along soo well! We invited him to be baptized, and he said that he didnt know. But he came to church and even brought his fiance, who we arent even teaching yet (she loved it). After church he talked to the member and said that the spirit touched him today and he thinks that he needs to get baptized! It was awesome!

We also received a referral from another set of missionaries for a guy named Michael. He also ended up coming to church after we taught him the restoration and he is really excited to read the book of Mormon!
We are feeling blessed here in the Village the work is going forth! I hope yall your thanksgivings were full of fun, family, and gratitude. We really are so blessed and (I got to speak in church on Sunday about prophets) as I was bearing my testimony I was just filled with the spirit and gratitude. I am so thankful that we have a prophet on the the earth today to lead and guide us. I am thankful for Joseph Smith and all that he did and sacrificed so that the church could be restored and so we could have the book of Mormon. What a blessing it is to be apart of this wonderful church and to have the knowledge that we do! And what a better time to share it then now. As we are all trying to turn to Christ this Christmas season! #lighttheworld! Dont forget to participate in the world wide day of service on Dec. 1! Happy holidays yall!

Love, Sister Gentry
