Whirled Peas :)
HEY!
So this week has just been a roller coaster of emotions and crazy busy. It was the weirdest thing sending Sister Jenkins home, and spending her last day in the mission with her, and then the next day picking up a greenie and spending her first day with her. Now all of my past companions are home. It was sad to see them go. I felt like I was sending home both sister Woolner and sister Jenkins because we have been companions so close together. But anyways I was so excited all week to meet my greenie. Like I said last week, I already loved her so much!
So we went to the trainers meeting and there were 5 new sisters and 1 elder. My new companion is named sister Pohl. She is from Shingle Springs California and hates the cold weather here. (and oddly enough it didnt get cold here until the day she came in.) It has been freezing this week. I would just like you all to know that when I get home, I will never willingly bike in the cold again. :)
But Sister Pohl is awesome. She is pretty quiet and a little awkward but is super sweet and really wants to be here for the right reasons. She is so excited to serve and has just jumped into the work! Makes it easy on me! Training is so much fun though. Its completely changed how I operate and go about missionary work, but I love it. We are having a ball! I feel like I have learned so much and grown a ton just in these last couple days! It makes me so happy to see sister Pohl grow and progress too!
I had a couple of "proud mom" moments this week. So first off, we had fast and testimony meeting this week because of stake conference last weekend. I was being prompted very strongly to go up and bear my testimony and I was the first one up there. :) (the stake president was also there that day) I cant really remember what I said besides a simple testimony and how I loved the ward and was grateful for their examples and sacrifice (oh and that I loved my eternal family). Anyways, right after me sister Pohl went up and bore her testimony. I was just beaming! Then we had a recent convert (of just under a year) get up and bear his testimony for the first time ever! I pretty much cried because I was so happy! It was such a big step for him. We have been working with him and his family so much and he is soo shy and quiet! It was the best testimony meeting. I loved it. Then sister Pohl and I taught gospel principles about the family and how we can serve in our families and as a family. It was a fun lesson!
Another cool thing we got to do this week is go to a Christmas parade! It was way fun and we got to talk to a bunch of people about light the world!
Our district is having a competition this week on who can talk to the most people. We call it OYMing Open Your Mouth. and it cant just be saying hi. You have to try and bring up the gospel. I told sister Pohl that we are definitely winning! hahah. We have seen so many miracles from it too. One night we were knocking some doors and I think it was our 17th or 18th door without any success, and we then found this guy named Jeff who is super interested and really wanted to read the Book of Mormon! We are going to meet with him again this week! Its the little miracles like that, that make knocking on 18 doors in the freezing cold worth it. We also have another investigator named Jessica who is also very excited about the book of mormon.
We are just seeing so many miracles :) We are going to have such a busy week this week! I LOVE IT! I have never been so happy nor so tired at night but its the best. Im still trying to help my greenie love biking in the cold, haha we are getting there. We went a bought a lot of warm socks and leggings today! Maybe that will help!
Love you all! Keep serving!
