I think I had the most miserable bike ride of my life!

So this week was not only cold, but windy! Like I said I had the worst bike ride of my life. I was wearing all the layers I could but it doesnt matter here because the wind cuts through everything. So here's the story. We had two appointments in Collinsville (the small town we cover about 7 miles away) and the Elders had the car for a doctors appointment. We couldnt find a ride so we headed out. It really wasnt too cold like temperature wise but the wind was so strong. It took us a really long time to bike there because the wind was blowing right in our faces. I felt like I would be faster walking it was literally like slug speed. Anyways, I just kept thinking "sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven." and later this week we saw some amazing miracles that I attribute to that biking day.

We did a lot of finding this week (tracting and talking to people) and we handed out 5 books of mormon in 2 days. And for this area, that is really good! Another miracle was that we were able to contact and set up appointments with 4 potential investigators we have had a hard time catching! It was awesome and they seem really interested. And then our investigator Sheri and her 13 year old daughter Jay came to church!!!!! I honestly did a happy dance when they said they were on their way! Church was great too. One of the speakers was a recent convert of a month that just moved into our ward. She is 22 and has a great story. It was perfect for the investigators there!

So something funny this week, I got pulled over last p day for the first time in my life. haha. I was going like 7 over. But the cop was super nice and only gave me a warning! :) Everyone was making fun of me and the Elders were in the back seat so that was fun!

So we had a great lesson with Sheri this week. It is so fun to teach her and Im sad that im leaving and wont be able to see her anymore. Oh yeah, haha I forgot to say, last night we found out about transfers and I am being transferred to Oklahoma University in Norman! I will also be Sister Training leader there! Im a little freaked out about it, but it should be so much fun! I am so excited to be able to serve the sisters and the people there! It was honestly a surprise though, I thought I was going to stay and finish sister Pohl's training. It will be sad to leave this area because ive been here for a while and I love it so much, but I know it will be good and I am going to have so much fun on OU!

We also got smart phones this week. Haha it has definitely been an adjustment. Im still getting used to them but its a great tool and will help the work progress.

So a cool experience this week. It was friday morning or something, and it was freezing outside. The Elders had the car and we had an appointment with a Less active lady who is known to flake out on us. Well I didnt know whether we should go or not because we would have to bike in the freezing cold and if she wasnt going to be there, I didnt think it would be worth it. So we decided to pray and see what we should do. We both felt that even if she wasnt there, we still needed to be out there for some reason. So we bundled up and went. It was freezing, and the lady wasnt there. No one was outside that early and in the cold and we didnt know what to do.

We decided to go try a potential investigator on the way home. she also was not home. Well I couldnt feel my fingers but there were two guys working on something across the street. We got talking to them and it went awesome. The guys name was Kyle and he loves history. So of course I was like well have you read the Book of Mormon? Its an ancient record of the people who lived in the americas a long time ago. Boom, hooked him. He gave us his number and the rest is history. Turns out that he actually lives in Claremore so we gave them his phone number but it was awesome because we knew we were out in the cold to find Kyle. Heavenly Father always answers prayers. Just not in the way you think he will!

I love you all! Make this week a good one!

Love, Sister Gentry
