Happy Halloween!
This week was a good one! The weather was pretty nice for the most part (YAY!), and we some amazing miracles. Here are few:
So we got this media referral for a guy named Lavaughn. We called him and set up an appointment for 3 pm on Sunday. We went and this guy is literally so prepared! He grew up with a Pentecostal mom and an atheist dad, and although he is a Christian, he has seen so many inconsistencies with Christianity and has kind of just believed what he feels is right. Well of course all of those things are exactly what we believe. One of the main ones is that we can one day become like God! He also doesn't understand why churches don't teach things or answer his questions about things written in the bible. We told him all about the Restoration and the Book of Mormon and he is so excited to read It!

Also, Kanrina, Osrina, Roland, and Kayrin were all baptized this Saturday! It was wonderful! I mean all baptisms are special, but this one was just extra neat and spiritual because it was the whole family. I was just overwhelmed with joy as they each went into the water and were baptized and felt the same way when they were confirmed. It was really cool because the mom speaks just a little English and understands more Chuukese. Well, we have a member who speaks Chuukese because he served his mission there. He was able to confirm Kanrina, and then give her blessing in Chuukese so she could really understand it. It was so neat. After four confirmations in church, we then had the primary program which just brought the spirit so strongly. It was amazing. I love it when children sing, it ALWAYS brings the spirit.
We also had exchanges this week! I got to be with sister Christensen. We rode our bikes all day long but we saw a lot of cool things. I think one that stood out to me the most was we went to teach this lady named Patricia. She was a Book of Mormon referral and we had met once before to teach her the Restoration. She doesn't have a phone and so it's hard to get in touch with her. But we showed up and she was there and so excited. We sat outside at a picnic table and taught the plan of salvation. I was able to watch as the plan was taught, her awe and understanding increase. She definitely felt the spirit and just kept saying that it made so much sense and was beautiful. She asked us to come back the next day. We did, and read 3 Nephi 11. We talked about baptism and she said she would love to be baptized! She has a few things she has to work out before she can, but it will come in Gods time and she is so prepared!
I also just got word from Sister Maloney in Wichita Falls, that Jason and Casey are getting baptized this Saturday! I taught them for 6 months and boy it was often a struggle! I am so excited for them! It just shows me that God works in his time, in his way! What a blessing for that family. They are some of the roughest people I know but have changed their lives so much! I love the gospel and the changes that it makes in our lives.
I hope you all have a happy Halloween! Here is my favorite quote that I found this week!
Yes, men and women who turn their lives over to God will find out that he can make a lot more out of their lives than they can. He will deepen their joys, expand their vision, quicken their minds, strengthen their muscles, lift their spirits, multiply their blessings, increase their opportunities, comfort their souls, raise up friends, and pour out peace. Whoever will lose his life to God will find he has eternal life.
-Ezra Taft Benson
I love this quote. Yeah its a big deal to give your life to God, but the blessings are worth it. They are so much greater than anything we could ever do on our own!
