Feeling blessed and highly favored :)

Wish I had the time to tell yall about all the many miracles and things that have been happening lately. Its just the best. And also Sister Hancock and I are STAYING TOGETHER! I CANT BELIEVE IT! We are so lucky. This is going to be the first companion besides my trainer that I have had for more than ONE transfer! I am so happy!

Here are a couple sweet experiences!

So we were tracting around and sometimes when we get unmotivated to tract, we go knock on the really old fancy houses around wichita. So we knocked on this huge house and this dude with a man bun opens the door and we were like hi how are you blah blah ....and it was getting kinda awkward, and then his dog runs out and he was like CAREFUL he will pee on your feet! and that like totally broke the ice. Anyways, we started talking about his beliefs and such and then he was like really down to talk more about it and so we are meeting with him tonight! Hopefully it goes well!

Okay here is another one. So we had 30 minutes before dinner, and us and the Elders went to an appointment together because they were passing off an investigator, well he wasnt home and we didnt know what to do. They ended up dropping us off in the Ghetto of our area and going back to their area for a quick second. so we started knocking some doors and found a few potentials. Well we went back yesterday to a lady named Daphne. It was great. She really wants to get her kids going to church and teach them about Jesus. We got to share with her the Book of Mormon and the bible, and we are going to go back and see her on Wednesday!!!

And a story right before that happened...As we were biking to Daphne's we passed our investigators Mark and Tinas house. Well they have been really hard to get ahold of, and anyways, we had the thought to go and try them. Anyways, they were both home, and they let us in. And we literally became marriage councilors for the next hour and a half. We even offered advice and I believe that the spirit told us all the right things to say. It was cool because Mark believes in God, but doesnt really know if he is there. So we promised him that if he were to read the book of mormon and pray everyday, that he would get an answer. And we also promised them both that if they prayed together each day, then they would have less contention in the home. Mark was like "wait!" and went to grab a piece of paper to write it all down. They are so nice and very open with us. They need the gospel so bad! Please pray for them that they will be willing to keep commitments.

Well those are some of the highlights. Its been awesome. And also really hot. We get sooo sweaty! I dont take my backpack off when we are out riding bikes because I dont want to scare people away with my back sweat haha! The struggles of a sister Missionary! But I wouldnt want it any other way! It is amazing how much you learn, grow, and have fun out here. this week one of the biggest things I learned was that I need to stop thinking so much about if I am doing good enough and If I said the right things or IF I am doing what I should be. Its not about me. I have been able to see how much happier I am and more successful we are, when we have the faith to go out and work hard and know that we are doing enough and that the spirit is with us and we will do all the Lord wants us to do. I am so thankful that I get to be here in Texas, telling people about the Restored gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today and how it has brought me eternal joy and happiness beyond measure even through the sweat and the tears! :)

Love, Sister Gentry
