Second Hand Smoke

Howdy Yall! How are you all doing?

I think Ive lost a fair amount of brain cells this week and my southern accent is coming in nice so watch out. Let me explain...I have been invited into more houses filled with smoke this week than my whole mission...and our downstairs neighbors are avid weed smokers and so when it drifts up into our apartment, I just love it. Its the best. Its my favorite smell...Also I bought a cactus today...dont really know why, but its cute!!! haha

So this week has been full of miracles! Like honestly I cant even believe it! Everyday something amazing happens! So cool. Here are a few...

We were biking around trying some potentials, and knocked on a door of someone named Lachanta. Surprisingly they answered and were like come on in! Apparently, they had met with missionaries before and loved them, but they were never taught! We had a great conversation about the Plan of Salvation (and btw they have 7 kids)! We also talked to her husband Tino, and they invited us back saying that they would love to learn more! #miracle

Then we had a member text us (she is 18 years old) and she said she had a friend who had a lot of questions, anyways she set up a lesson with us and her friend Serena in her home, and we taught the restoration and the plan of salvation. This girl is so smart and loved it! her questions were amazing. (it brought me back to my OU days with all the smart college kids!) And she wants to meet up again! woohoo!

Next...We were trying a less active member that nobody knew...we knocked on the door and a guy came around back and was like, "can I help you?" Turns out it wasnt them, the family had moved along time ago. But this guy got to asking what we were doing and we said we were missionaries...and then asked us if we would come and pray with him and his family. He is looking for a better job, and also wanted us to pray for the health of the kids and stuff. So we went in, met Mark and his wife Tina and their two kids (both old enough to be baptized). After we prayed with them, the wife was like "yeah we dont go to church very often, and I cant answer any of Mark's deep questions about religion." We were like well thats our job! So they invited us back! haha so amazing!

Okay there are so many more but this is the last one Im going to share.
We were lighting visiting a member and he was like "hey are yall teaching Willie?" Apparently the sisters met Willie in January and gave him a BOM but never taught him. Well Zach, the member, mows Willies yard and said he was talking about us and the BOM. so we decided to go over to Willies. He invited us in, and we had a great discussion with him and his 29 year old son. He said he would really like to come to church, and that we can also come back and teach them! It was so cool!

Okay one more...so we met this guy named Des on MSU. He is a total homie if you know what I mean. So we have taught him twice and somehow (idk remember how this came about) we are each writing a 2 page paper about a topic that the other person gets to choose. We have to write on Our purpose on earth, and he has to write about the apostacy! Im really interested to see what he writes! Should be good!

Sister Hancock and I are having such a fun time. We literally laugh our heads off at least once a day. One day at MSU we were talking to two guys and were just roasting eachother and missionary work and it was so funny, we were literally dying and they were just looking at us like we were crazy. I love sister Hancock so much. She has really helped me to have fun while doing missionary work. We were talking last night, and we are just both so motivated by eachother to work hard, and we look forward to each day because we are seeing so many miracles and its just the best! I am so grateful to be a missionary. I love it.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes from all of you! Sorry if I couldnt write back but know it means a lot and I appreciate it so much!

Love
Sister Gentry
