Merry Christmas!

This week has been awesome! We have been working really hard to find and talk to a lot of people. We have found a couple good potential investigators, but no one really solid. So I was thinking like "We are promised these blessings if we do our part, so where are the people?" Well Sunday rolled around we have these two girls who come by themselves to church every sunday because their mom has some health problems. Well today their ride was their older brother Toby, who had never been to a mormon church before. Long story short, he stayed all three hours, participated, committed to read the book of Mormon and we are going back to teach him on Thursday!!! It was an answer to prayer and a confirmation that God will always do his part and provide. I love it! Ahh it makes me so excited to do missionary work and teach. Its the best!

We had our ward Christmas party this week. It was so much fun! It was funny because we started about halfway down the line and all these kids ran up to us and wanted to give hugs and talk and give us cards and stuff that by the time we were done talking to everyone we were at the end of the line and everyone had already eaten. But I didn't even care. I love these kids. They are amazing and it makes me feel so good to know that I am their friend and they want to tell me how excited they are about Christmas, or how their day is going.

A funny experience from this week. We were knocking on a potential investigators door and they werent home for the billion time. I pretended to kick the door and my shoe went flying off and hit the door. Like it shouldnt have been that funny but it was late and we were tired and so we laughed pretty hard.

Also update on Sister Pohl, she is doing good! She memorized the first vision this week and has been taking more responsibility and talking more! I am so proud of her. She is doing great. Its funny she is so uncomfortable on the phone. We are working on it! haha. But still having a great time and I havent killed her yet so thats good!

Also this week there was a guy named William who was baptized in the other ward. I had met him a couple times at Book of Mormon class, but anyways, he asked me to speak on the Holy Ghost at his baptism. It was great. I was honored. It reminded me of when all three of us kids spoke at Ryder's baptism and how spiritual that was.

Another thing, so on Friday we have our mission Christmas conference. So the first 2 hours of the conference are musical numbers provided by the missionaries. Well you all know how much I love to sing...haha!!! Well I had a couple different people convince me to do a number with them, so we are singing Stars were Gleaming/Angels we have heard on high type of an arrangement. It will be me and four other missionaries. I havent sang in anything like that since I was like 8...this ought be interesting. I will let you all know how it goes and if I kill anyone with my singing. :) haha.

But I am just so excited for Christmas! Can you all imagine what the first Christmas was like. To see that bright star and know that it was the time that our Savior was born. The one who we needed more than anything in the whole world, to not only save us spiritually, but physically too. The joy and the hope that was felt still resides with us and we can share those feelings with everyone. I love it!

Keep it real and send some snow my way! Im missing it :)

Love, Sister Gentry
