Thanksgiving!
Hola!
This week has been pretty fun! We had a great thanksgiving, (two of them actually) and I also tried egg nog for the first time. It was pretty good. I am so grateful for the area im in and for the amazing ward taking care of us! We went and played in the ward turkey bowl Thursday morning. We are pretty tight with the Elders quorum president and he told us to come. Haha so we went. Of course we were the only women there but hey, you know I did pretty good. :) I got some sweet interceptions!
And later on that day we got to take a nice nap! I LOVE naps and its been a while since Ive had one!
So this week we have been working on finding new people to teach. And that means talking to everyone! We have been sharing the Light the World cards/initiative and it has been awesome. I love it so much. We have seen so many little miracles this week, and we found four potential investigators! Im excited to see where it goes this week!
So another miracle, Donovan called us and was like "SISTERS! Ive got some good news! My brother in north Carolina is getting baptized!" We of course were so excited. He also has 4 other friends around the US that are getting baptized that he send a BOM to! And then he was like, my parents have been reading the BOM and they have felt something pulling at their hearts. He said it was very likely we would be meeting them soon!!!!!!! WOOHOO!
Anyways, so this week has been good. On Sunday we were asked to teach Primary and it was so much fun. (sharing time) we talked about how all the primary kids can be missionaries and then of course we talked about Light the World and how they can do so. We gave them all a light the world card to share with their friends. It was also super funny at the beginning, we asked the kids what they knew about missionaries/what missionaries do. They said things like, "they like to eat! they are awesome, they like to help, they are fun, they teach people." and it just made me so happy to hear all these answers because I know those kids and love them a whole lot. And to know that they look up to us and know what we do is so humbling and I felt so very special. I LOVE the kids in this ward.
Another funny thing that happened. We went to visit this old lady (she is probably like 90 ha) who had a stroke a couple years a go. She still lives by herself and in the middle of nowhere. After driving around for 20 mins we finally found her house. She has beautiful property. She also has 30 cats and 2 dogs. I am not lying. And her house smells like it too! She was fun to talk to though and I think I heard the same 4 stories 3 times each. But we made her day and has a great time.
The work is going great here. Bernadette is still progressing but it would be a lot better if her less active husband would come to church! Pray for their family. We know they have so much potential and could be really strong members. We are excited to meet with the new people we found (the coolest one was named Lemont hahaha he pretty much asked us for a BOM!).
Its crazy that sister Jenkins is going home in a week and a half. Shes way freaked out about it. I wonder who my new comp will be? But Im so excited to stay in this area!
Love you guys! Dont forget to LIGHT THE WORLD!!!
