Haunted Eagle (POWERS)

Hey yall! I don't even know where to start this week has been a week of miracles and I feel like we have been going non stop the whole time! Its been exhausting but so so joyful.

Tuesdays we always volunteer at a place called Neighbors in Need. It's pretty much like a food pantry where people in need can come and get food. We hold their bags while they are shopping and carry them out to the car for them. (let me tell you I get a good arm workout because those bags are heavy!) But it is my favorite because we get to talk to so many people and they are all so humble and extremely grateful for the help and the food. I always leave there feeling so enlightened. I love it.

Wednesday we went to the TEMPLE! Man, it was so good!!! We also had interviews and a training beforehand, and sister Mansell ordered pizza for us, Yum (I've decided papa John's is my favorite). In the temple I actually ran into a member from my old ward in Broken Arrow! It was so fun to see her! It was the perfect day. 70 degrees outside. Also, we had an exterminator come when we were gone to get rid of the bugs (we haven't seen any since so I think it worked thank goodness!!!!). For the first time in 3 weeks I've been able to get clothes out of a closet and not spend 5 hours looking for them in trash bags! We have also been unpacking the rest of our stuff too! Today will be the first time I have slept with my own pillow in a long time and boy am I excited!

I would say one of the biggest highlights and best part of my week (besides the temple) was Book Of Mormon class. When I first got to the area we had 1 person coming (the elders dropped an investigator who was not progressing -Adam-) This last week we had 5 people there!!!!! It was amazing. And we have commitments for 10 people to come this week! I love BOM class. It is one of those things that both the teacher and the student leave edified. The spirit is so strong there and we also have a great time.

We had exchanges Friday which were super fun. We found a new investigator which is actually the husband of a less active member! His name is Luke and we are so excited!

Sunday was by far the craziest day! We were asked to speak in the Owasso ward (they have Elders but they still asked us to speak :) I spoke about the joy of living the gospel and the Book of Mormon. Sister Woolner also spoke on the Book of Mormon. Neither of us were planning on talking about it and we weren't given it as a topic either. Cool huh! Maybe someone really needed to hear about it that week. Then at our ward, Adam (from book of Mormon class) randomly showed up - AND HE BROUGHT A FRIEND! - named Donovan who has apparently met with missionaries before and wants to meet with us!!! Another named Laura, a less active who hasn't been to church in 30 years, decided that she wanted to come back. She has also been coming to BOM class and loves it. It was a neat experience to be with here on that day. She had never been to relief society before and we got to be there for her first time. AHHH! So then for gospel principles (with all of these investigators and very new members or recently coming back people) the lesson just happen to be on the priesthood - Haha. Our ward mission leader Brother Monson taught and it was great. I was actually able to share the restoration in the class and how the priesthood was restored. It went pretty well. At the end though, we have a crazy lady who is a habitual liar who attends the class and she randomly told a story about an eagle that was haunted by some spirit and she shared this crazy story about how it was in her house....it all started cause another new member asked about the priesthood and exorcism and casting out devils. yeah we were all cringing and it was horrible because we had investigators there. haha. but I think they knew that she was a little crazy. We love em!

Well anyways. I think that covers most of all the craziness. I am loving the work, the ward and my amazing companion. I hope we stay together for transfers. (we find out Saturday). I cant believe its already been that long!!!! You can say we are just on fire with the work.

Don't forget to read your book of Mormon everyday!

Love, Sister Gentry
