Lake Day...sort of :)
This week wasn’t too
eventful, but it was good as always. And I don’t remember most of it haha
sorry.
I will try my best.
We had exchanges earlier
this week and I was with Sister Leany who was with me in the MTC so that was
fun! We biked clot to 20 miles that day. And then for dinner a part member old
couple took up to Cicis pizza. I haven’t been there since we lived in Virginia.
Its not as good as I remember haha.
Then Wednesday we had
greenie graduation. I had to teach all the lessons and then some commandments
to other trainers and the APs. It was intimidating but I learned a lot and
overall, I think I did pretty good.
This week we have been
working on finding people to teach so we have been talking to everyone. We have
some really great potentials but its always hard to get that next appointment
because they cancel or are busy. AHHH!!! They don’t know what they are missing
and it gets so frustrating sometimes!
Friday we had interviews
with president. That’s always good. We had them at a place called Muskogee. Its
a city about 45 mins from us. So side note, our water here tastes like dirt. We
have a filter tank thing that we fill up so its not so bad. At the Muskogee
building I got a drink from the drinking fountain and almost gagged. Like dirt
water isn’t that bad but this was like actual dirt with some water mixed in. I
cant believe how tasty it was. No water should have that much flavor. Yeah but
then I was like "there are kids in Africa that don’t even have water so
stop complaining" so yeah I was grateful after that.
Saturday the Animal Shelter
finally called us back and they said we passed background checks and could start
volunteering there! We took a tour and got to play with some of the animals. I
am excited for that and it will sure beat cleaning shelves at goodwill although
I still think we will do that every now and again too. And the officer lady
there said that her husband meets with the missionaries in the other ward all
the time. (maybe he’s a less active?) but she could totally be a potential. We
shall see!
A family in our ward (the
cooks) went on vacation to South Dakota and Montana (cause thats where Brother
Cook served his mission) and they asked us to collect their eggs from their
chickens while they were gone! I love fresh eggs! Its been fun to do
that.
What’s also cool is that
this weekend we are planning a big grill off and inviting everyone. Its going
to be at this beautiful cabin place (the grandparents of someone in our ward)
and they used to rent it out for weddings and such. Ill take pictures. It will
be cool. We are focusing it around missionary work so the members are supposed
to bring non member friends.
And then yesterday for
labor day we went to this park in a city called Haskell and it had a little
lake and sand volleyball and was pretty cool. We grilled burgers and played
games and stuff. It was a lot of fun. I really wanted to swim in the lake but
whatever its fine. haha.
Love you all!
