Possums are UGLY!
Hey yall!
This week was crazy (I think I say that every week haha). I have a lot to say so Im gonna try and keep it short.
So Amy was not baptized this week. Its a long story, but she was just having a lot of doubts. It was like the worst day ever when she told us. My heart was so heavy, and it was the saddest I've been on my mission so far. But its okay. She had to meet with President Mansell for previous things and when we told him she wasn't going to get baptized, he still felt like he needed to come speak to her. So we drove with president to Muskogee where she works (which is kinda far) at a hospital. We needed to find a quiet place, and ended up in the abandoned psych unit of the hospital. Not gonna lie, it was kinda creepy. But we had the most amazing talk with her and president. The topic mostly being on the fact that God keeps sending Amy this life line, and she needs to grab it. She loved it and really felt the spirit. Long story long, we spent a lot of time with her on Saturday and she is going to get baptized August 26 (next sat) and she couldn't be more excited! I wish I could tell you all the miracles and all of the details and prayers and the spirit that has been testifying to her and to me as we try to help and teach her. When a good lesson is taught, and the spirit is the third and divine companion, Both the teacher and the investigator are edified. That can go for all of us. OH! One more thing I have to share...Amy prayed before church to know if the book of Mormon is true, she said she felt great peace. And then all of church was about the book of Mormon and the scriptures. It was amazing! God knows what hes doing!!
So what else..Steve and Jenette are so excited to get married! We are so pumped (that is this Saturday before Amy's baptism. They took us out to get burgers on saturday and it was so fun! They are like my adoptive grandparents. And they said something that made me so happy this week. Since the Oklahoma Temple will be closed for the next two years starting in October, they would not be able to be sealed there. So they said they wanted to go and be sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple!!!!!!!! and make a trip out of it! I was telling them all the things they needed to do and see there. They also really want me to be there, but I can't, and won't ask them to wait for me to get home from my mission so that I can go. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they waited anyway. Timing would be December next year when that would happen (Also Dad, they loved your letter you sent them. They really, really loved it and said it was so special. Thank you for sending that!) I will send lots of pictures next week of the wedding!!!!!
Random experience, we were riding our bikes and almost ran over a live possum. They are so ugly. The thing was just wandering around the road and moved in like low motion when we came by. Blah!
Anyways, the work is great. Wish I had time to share all the miracles that we see everyday. Keep reading and praying, and you will be blessed.
Love yall!
