Spiritual Beasts
Hey Guys!!!
This week has been great! Like I said last week, this week was bike week and it has conveniently been the hottest week of the year so far! Gotta love sweatin in a dress! We have probably biked close to 50 + miles! And since the roads have no shoulder and it just drops off into jungle, we bike right on the road. Ive been honked at, zoomed at, cussed at, whistled at, and many other things this week! But its all good. I just smile and wave.
Also we conveniently ran out of toilet paper on Tuesday, we were using paper towels most of the week. That combined with biking makes for a sore butt!!! Hahaha. We were laughing so hard about it. We finally asked a member to bring us a roll so thats good and we are now restocked. Cease your worries!
The whole week we didnt really see any miracles. We were trying to find a new investigator and doing a lot of finding and we didnt even find a potential. Well thursday we decided to focus on less actives and we got into every door we tried! It was amazing. Then that night we met with our really solid couple investigators Steve and Jenette. they told us they talked about it and they dont think they want to get married right now or in the future. It was sad, but as we talked to them, we testified of the blessings and told them to continue to pray about it. Steve said that if God wants him to get married he is going to tell him so they are still praying about it. They are funny because even if they dont get married and baptized, they still want to keep the commandments and come to church and be "dry mormons" pretty much. So fast forward to Saturday, the Indian Springs Elders in our district had a baptism and Abby our investigator was able to come. Saturday night came and we still hadnt found any new investigators. It was 9 and we were walking home and a random dog comes running up to us. We start petting him and then a lady from the other side of the field, says "God sent that dog to you!" I was thinking "Oh yes he did!" (and this is where we get the spiritual beast title haha) Short version of the story, Amy is a very broken person who deals with a lot, has tried to commit suicide twice, is depressed, and thinks the devil is after her. She is really humble and really needs us. She is 39, never married and doesnt thing anyone loves her. So right when we first met her, we testified of Gods love for her and how she is innocent for all of the bad things done to her. She was bawling. Anyways she came to church! She loved it and the Elders were able to giver her a blessing. She literally was asking us what she needs to do next. Its amazing. We are so blessed to have found her. We meet to actually teach her on Tuesday. Im so excited!
Sunday I felt like I was at church forever, Oh wait, I was. We had to go to church at 10 because Amy couldnt come at 2. We had to leave at 9 so we could bike there. Then we had our church at 2 and then stayed after for mission prep for like 30 mins. I was dying because I was so antsy and then the air conditioner at the church broke and it was like 105 yesterday. It was so hot! Anyways. Its been a good week but Im glad to have the car for a couple of days. My tanlines are freakin awesome though!
You are loved so much! Everyone go read Romans 8:39!
