July is HOT!

Hola! This week has been awesomely sweaty! I walk outside and I instantly start dripping! On top of that, starting yesterday, its bike week. We are not allowed to use our car!! oh yeah! We have already been biking a lot and knocking on lots of doors. Its great to feel like your working hard!

I honestly cant remember much of this week but we did have interviews with president, and the next day we drove to Edmond (where the mission home is) for greenie follow up which took most of the day. Sister Bash had told me we had to teach president and the APs the lessons but it turns out that is at Greenie graduation after training so that made me feel better! We had a really neat training on teaching people not lessons and kind of like a personality thing and how to teach different personalities. I found out that I am an expressive, driver, who is analytically minded. I wish I could explain it all in detail. But expressive is like outgoing, loud,...etc.. Driver is the determined, leader, im the boss kindof thing. and then analytical is the very organized and lists and stuff like that. The other one is amiable and Im not that. hahaha.

A member this week gave us a bunch of leftover Cafe Rio (homemade) stuff that she had from a work party! They dont have cafe rio or anything like it out here so it was amazing! I was craving it!

We met with Steve and Jenette this week and talked about prophets and the priesthood. It was great. Then Jenette came to church (Steve was sick) and the talks were on the indexing and family history, and then the importance of the book of mormon! She loved them and asked a ton of questions and we are going to teach her about family history. I think she will really like it!

Bree is doing great. She is growing her faith and progressing but a lot of hard things have been happening (death in family, she is sick etc...) and she hasnt been able to come to church and her hours keep getting cut. Hopefully she will be able to come soon.

We are meeting with a potential investigator family tonight! I am so excited. We were knocking doors and a 17 year old boy opened and told us to come back and meet with his whole family. It was kinda weird but hey! We will take it!

The scriptures are the best. Besides meeting people, my favorite part of the day is scripture study. You can learn so much from them. There was a talk given in church about the BoM and something that stood out to me was his analogy. He said the Book of Mormon is a cookbook. Not only should we read and study it to be a good cook, but we should prop it open and continuously read it throughout. The Book of Mormon has all the ingredients to be successful! Feast upon and you will not hunger. Its critical in conversion and the most important tool we have!

Love you all,

Sister Gentry
