Drunk Guys and Libraries

Hey yall! This week has been so great!

The Fourth of July was great! We got to spend it with a lot of missionaries and play sports and eat food! We also had a huge water balloon fight which was so awesome!

So a couple funny stories from this week. It was really rainy one morning and once it stopped we walked to an appointment. So in Broken Arrow, there are no sidewalks. So we were walking in some long grass/dirt on the side of the road and we have to cross this little stream. Well because it was muddy, I slipped and totally stepped into the stream, and my shoe and leg were really wet and muddy. Sister Bash was laughing pretty hard. I was just glad I didnt full on fall into the river. haha. 

This week we were able to invite Bree to be baptized! And she said yes! It was so spiritual and amazing. I am so happy for her. She is so strong and has such a desire to be better and come closer to Christ and God. 

So like I have said, we share the car the with Elders who are near us. Well it was a day when we didnt have the car, it was 105 degrees outside and we had an appointment to go to. Well we called everyone in the ward and their grandmas but no one could give us a ride, so we biked 5 miles to this guys house. I had back sweat so bad, it looked like I was wearing a shirt and skirt instead of a dress because it was a completely different color! Sister Bash almost died and we had to stop in some shade for a while. But she was okay. So anyways we got to this house and knocked on the door (so it was actually a referral that we got and they guy, Adan, wanted a book of Mormon.) and an old lady answered and said he didnt live there. Long story short, we couldnt find his house even though he was explaining it to us on the phone. We also went over to a members house and asked if they knew where he lived and we searched for it together but couldnt find it. They also gave us a ride home which was super nice! But I like biking, Its so satisfying to work hard and be sweaty. 

So the next story...I was saying a prayer before we went out on day. And we were standing by the door. when I finished, Sister Bash grabbed my shoulders and told me to not move. I froze thinking I was going to die...She runs to grab a paper towel and comes back and smashed a spider that was sitting on the front of my dress. Yeah it was a pretty good size too. Yummy. 

So I had a really good burger from this place called Fat Guys. Yeah, that pretty much explains it. 

We had zone conference today and I loved it! It was super great and I was i finally able to meet sister Mansell. She is fantastic!

So we all know how much I hate lip stick and makeup and things similar to that. Well Sister Mons the Bishops wife was giving us a ride to their house for dinner, and she sells lip sense. (its like all day stay on your face doesnt come off with anything lip stick) Anyways sister bash loves it and they were talking about it. well she ended up giving us both some and told me I had to wear it to church. Well I felt bad because I know its expensive and that was nice of her so I wore it to church. haha....it was way to dark, I felt soooooo self conscience. I took it off as soon as I got home. Mom, I know you would get probably get a kick out of that!

Okay so last story, we had to go to the library to type up some zone lists for our ward. Anyways, this guy came and sat next to us. He was young (25) and smelt like beer hard core. He talked on the phone the whole time really loud and has a really bad mouth. Anyways. I had all these maps and lists and stuff around me so it was kinda crazy. Randomly he turned (and scared me soooo bad) and was like, "Can I just ask what you are doing? Like you have maps and stuff and it looks pretty intense." Well I tried to explain it in a really dumbed down way. Anyways there was another guy sitting on the other side of him and he overheard me. He was like " wait, Your missionaries?" I was like yeah and gave a little summary. He then was like "Well im actually looking for something like that in my life. I am lost and want to know why I am here!" Anyways, we got his info and told him to come to church. Well he actually texted us that night and said his friend told him to stay away from mormons and he was wondering why. We ended up calling him and we talked for like 30 minutes trying to answer his questions. It was great. He wasnt able to come to church, but we are going to meet with him this week. His name is Michael. We are so excited. Well the funny part about this story is that we are once again at the library, and sitting next to sister bash is the drunk guy again! hahaha. He is talking really loud on the phone and someone needs to kick him out haha! 

Well Missionary work is the best and I love it so much. Oh and Steve and Jenette were able to come to church and are progressing so well. Steve is solid, but Jenette is trying to understand why her baptism didnt count and if she believes it. So she is praying to know if the book of mormon is true, and we meet with them again tonight. Also Steve works for Bluebell icecream and last time we were there, he got us both a pint! Mine was cookies and cream and it was mighty fine! They are so nice!
