MTC Week UNO

Hola!

I hope all of you are doing well! Thanks for all the emails! so surprise! I got out here and they told me I was going to speak spanish!! I know crazy! I am so excited though!

MTC life is great. My companion Sister Oviatt is from Star Valley Wyoming! She is so kind and very sweet and also going to Oklahoma! I love my district and zone! I have attached some pictures of them! I love the schedule here oddly enough. I get enough sleep I love not wasting any time and I learn so much! Although I have a hard time sitting still for long periods of time, the Lord has really blessed me as I have prayed for help with having patience and to not be so antsy! Also I get exercise time everyday and I am very thankful for that.

I cannot even express to you how much I have grown over this past week. I feel so much closer to the savior. I love it. The food is good. Our Zone has this challenge where we pick a meal and see how many cookies we can eat. The record is 50 set by the district that just left. My district has a plan to beat that this saturday! hahah.

My favorite thing here besides the people, are teaching the investigators. I love it. God's work is amazing and the joy I feel from teaching is remarkable. There is nothing like it. I have learned that when you promise an investigator something, for example, that they will feel the spirit if they pray to know if it is true, the holy ghost will never let you down. My companion and I have had many amazing experiences during lessons.

We have also have had a lot of really funny times too. Its great here. Although sometimes I do get a little claustrophobic here because most places you are surrounded by tall buildings and covered sidewalks. I hate that. I want fresh air and wide open spaces and mountains. That is why I like the new buildings so much. they are very open in the middle with tons of grass and places to study, along with big windows in the classrooms. My district doesnt get to move classrooms yet but we are hoping to on monday. A lot of people have already moved there, and we teach our investigators there so its awesome.

The first problem I ran into here was that we ate dinner at 5 meaning that I get back from class at 9 and have no food. I went to bed hungry (because im always hungry) the first couple nights. Then my companion got a huge box of snacks. So each night we have snack time before bed.

Granny, Thank you for the donuts. My district loved them and I gave the rest of the to the new girls in our district who got here yesterday. They were having a hard time and are all shy. I am going to break the bubble just wait. (also please send me your email address)

If there is one thing that I desire most right now, it is to get my hands dirty and work. Everything is so clean here and I just want to start rolling in the flower beds or something. I miss the smell of the farm and all my animals and especially Zeus. Hopefully I will get my fair share of dirty work and animal interaction in Oklahoma! I cannot wait to get out there!

A really cool experience I had was when sister Oviatt and I were teaching and I had a prompting to share a certain scripture, as I expressed this to our investigator, Sister Oviatt already knew exactly which scripture (to the verse) I was talking about. The spirit is amazing people! Another one is that I was searching for a specific scripture and I could not find it. It was frustrating because I knew exactly where on the page it was and that it was highlighted red. But I couldnt find it. Finally I said a prayer. I closed my scriptures. I then flipped through and stopped right on it. Miracles. I know. The church it true!

I have been called as the zone music coordinator which is awesome because I feel the spirit so strongly through music.

Well Im sure this week is going to blow by just like the last one! Also thanks for reading this whole email if ya did. Truth be told I am actually not learning spanish...I just wanted to freak everyone out! hahaha.

Love you all,

Sister Gentry
