Week 2 MTC

Hey Everyone!

This week has been amazing!!!! Ive loved every minute of it! Also sorry if im scatter brained. There is a lot to write andthe space bar on this keyboard does not work. Hopefully Ill be able to make it through. haha.

So most ofthe week was a blur. All the days blur together. Its crazy. the first important thing I remember from this week is that on sunday we were on our walk and we had decided to tour the new buildings. I was on the roof of the second floor study area, looking over the edge, and I saw a crowd of missionaries gathering. I looked closer (also snapped a picture) and realized that President Uchtdorf was standing in the middle of them. Yeah so we walked down to him. I didnt really get close because of all the other missionaries so my district and I decided to go into the building andwait in the hall. A little bit later, he walks into the hall and I was like super close to him. Him and his wife talked to us for a bit and before he left, he said how much the first presidency loves the missionaries and the Lord does too. And through the savior we can do all things. I could feel the spirit so strong. It was amazing. He really is a prophet of the Lord. So of course we were all hoping that he would speak at sunday night devotional. He didnt and we were kinda sad, but it was okay.

So then monday we got new investigators to teach for TRC. Jessica and Wan Yu. They are awesome and we have had some amazing experiences with the spirit guiding us. I love sharing the gospel. Its the beeeessssttt!

So back to Sunday, we have sunday night film where we get to pick a movie or talk to go watch. My companion and I (and most of the district) went to the joseph smith movie. The spirit was so strong. By the end we were all bawling. It really just helped grow my testimony of joseph smith. He was amazing. I cant wait to talk to him in heaven!

So then flash to Tuesday. We had service in the morning so that was good to change it up. Then we had devotional at night where we sang Be Still My Soul. It was good. the executive missionary director guy--Brent Nielson.(side note. My teacher Sister Linford challenged our class to pray to know again if the book of mormon is true,so I did) Anyways I had been praying about the book of mormon all the past week or so. During Neilsons talk, he showed a video about "the work" that is shown in fayette new york where the church was first organized. So this video was about joseph smith and then missionaries and the back ground music was come come ye saints. I was just completely overcome with the feeling of the spirit and I couldnt hold back my emotions as the Book of Mormon and its truthfulness was testified to me again. (also joseph smith) it was amazing. The video wasnt even about the BoM. It was cool. the rest of the devotional was  great to. It was actually the best devo ive ever been to. So spiritual.

This week has been hard on my district. Sister Leany got really sick. I was super concerned I was going to get sick so ive been washing and sanitizing my hands every 30 seconds. Havent gotten sick yet and im determined to not to. Then sister Low had an anxiety attack really bad and she has never had one before so we thought she was just sick but dont worry she is okay. Then sister Frehner has been dealing with anxiety so all three of them have been to many appointments and counceling sessions. sis Oviatt and I are the only healthy ones. then Elder Apsley has anxiety so bad that he went home. It was really sad. I feel so bad for him and also his companion Elder Rustand. He was having a hard time with it. But my district is so awesome and very strong. I love them.

Funniest thing that happened, well one of them, I believe it was sister Frehner who said "sister Gentry, I think your spirit animal is a goat. Youre cute but you could also ram through me. Also you love food." It made me laugh pretty hard!

Well overall Ive feel like my testimony has continued to grow and its just been amazing. Getting an email from my mission president made me SO EXCITED! I was going crazy. I cannot wait to get out into the field! I have the blessing of leaving tuesday at 4:30 in the morning, :( yay. Oh well hopefully I will sleep onthe way to the airport. Ill be too excited on the plane to sleep then. Also one thing I dont like about the MTC is the no dancing rule. I have the need to dance. Its weird. haha.

Sister Low and I ran somewhere between 8 and 10 miles this week so go us!

Love you all! Next time you hear from me Ill be in Oklahoma!!
